Cultivating Calmness and Composure in Everyday Life
Mindfulness Meditation is a specific technique you can use to cultivate mental calmness, composure, and presence of mind, particularly in difficult situations. Mindfulness meditation is a powerful and useful life skill.
Mindfulness meditation can minimize rumination, emotional reactivity, distractions, anxiety, and depressive symptoms; while simultaneously improving resilience, persistence, creativity, intuition and enhanced tolerance of difficult or disagreeable situations.
Workshops are practical. The main emphasis is on experience, observation, reflection, and practice. They not only have applications for resolving problems, but they are also useful for preventing them.
Mindfulness meditation exercises can include:
- Mindfulness of the Body
- Mindfulness of the Breath
- Mindfulness of the World Around Us
- Mindfulness of Others/Another
- Mindfulness of Thoughts
- Mindful Movement
- Mindful Eating
